Safety Health and Welfare Legislation requires employers to evaluate health and safety at workstations for employees who habitually use display screen equipment (VDUs) as a significant part of their normal work with particular reference to eyesight, physical difficulties, working posture, ergonomic requirements, and mental stress. Employers are legally required to take appropriate steps to control any risks identified having regard to the safety and health of the employee.
