Training - Emergency Planning
(Fire Safety, Prevention, Evacuation)

emergency planning training photoThis course is designed to train employees why it is necessary to plan for emergencies and how to respond in the unlikely event of a fire occurring in their workplace. The training provides individuals with an understanding of the causes of fire, how to react, who to contact and where to go in the event of an emergency evacuation. The training is designed to be site specific so that employees get to practice how to react to an emergency in their own workplace.

Content of Training

Familiarisation with relevant health and safety legislation
Classification of fires and use of fire fighting equipment
Importance of inspection and record keeping
Raising the alarm and evacuation procedure
The role of an emergency response team
Re-entry and all-clear procedure
Fire principles - the fire triangle
Liaising with external agencies
Fire prevention and protection

Training Resources

Classroom tuition. Audio-visual presentation equipment (overhead projector, flip chart or white board, videos). Training is designed to be interactive allowing individuals to become familiar, practice and demonstrate awareness with their own emergency procedures. A mock drill is also carried out. Relevant handouts given.

Course Evaluation and Certification

Individuals are required to complete a written assessment and are awarded a certificate on completion.

Venue and Duration

Training is conducted at the employer's premises, as it needs to be site specific. Training takes 1 day per group.

Number of Delegates

Maximum 12 individuals per group
