Training - Chemical Handling

This course allows individuals to gain a greater appreciation of the hazards that chemicals pose to their health and safety..

Content of Training

Familiarisation with relevant health and safety legislation
Protection requirements from hazardous materials
Training individuals about handling chemicals
Material safety data sheet interpretation
Emergency requirements, spill clean up
Storage of hazardous materials
Exposure control to chemicals

Training Resources

Classroom tuition. Audio-visual presentation equipment (overhead projector, flip chart or white board, video). Practical demonstrations and exercises on case study or in the workplace where feasible. Relevant handouts given.

Course Evaluation and Certification

Individuals are required to complete a written assessment and are awarded a certificate on completion.

Venue and Duration

Training is normally conducted at the employer's premises. Training takes 4 - 6 hours per group.

Number of Delegates

Maximum 12 individuals per group.
